Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:
Manager of Logistics - LTL is responsible for overseeing and leading our less-than-truckload (LTL) efforts and Direct Sales Customer Service Representative (CSR) team members. This role includes developing processes and protocols to ensure production of accurate and timely sales that reflect the strategic direction the company and executive team have set forth.
Essential Job Functions:
As Manager of Logistics - LTL, your responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Promote customer growth through LTL quoting, dispatching, load management and proper invoicing techniques
  • CSR performance management and annual employee reviews for all CSR team members
  • Training + development of all new employees on systems, processes, and work-flows (CSRs and Direct Sales)
  • Assist with LTL spot quoting process for both the Direct Sales and Outside Sales teams
  • Assist with annual RFP opportunities for LTL customers, inclusive of any Customer Specific Pricing (CSP) requests
  • Encourage proper negotiation techniques with our customer partners as well as our LTL partner carriers
  • Relationship management with all of our LTL partner carriers inclusive of new and existing tariff management
  • Management of 3PL Systems software both internally + externally
  • Management of team KPIs, specifically LTL gross profit percentage and win/loss ratios
  • Customer education to ensure we maximize our relationships + profitability
  • Effective internal communication with all departments (sales, operations, accounting, etc)
  • Continuing education for CSR team members
  • Weekly reporting for Senior Leadership inclusive of team performance, market trends, and forecasting
  • Promote growth of all accounts + business channels for CSR run customers
  • Maintaining relationships with each CSR team members top accounts, thanking them for business, etc
  • Driving internal changes in structure, SOPs, etc and pushing adoption of new systems
  • Account transfers during internal role changes/termination
  • Quota, goal and expectation management daily, weekly and monthly
  • Weekly and monthly performance reviews through goal setting
  • Back office management ensuring timely resolution of claims, invoices, re-bills, disputes, etc.

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • Strong analytical and detail analysis skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • 2+ years of Management Experience in the logistics industry
  • Strong desire to learn and improve and take charge of processes and process improvement
  • Business acumen with knowledge of business needs, goals, and priorities
  • Critical Thinking Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Complex Problem Solving identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Integrity Job requires being honest and ethical
  • Attention to Detail Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:
A Masters degree in Supply Chain is strongly preferred
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree or greater in Business Administration, preferably engineering or finance
Experience in project management preferred
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and office equipment. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be in an open cubicle and/or normal office environment. Candidate must be able to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
